Knowledge is power and data talks.
We acknowledge there is existing data that demonstrates the levels of engagement and participation within Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, however due to that language it does not accurately depict the significant impact Indigenous, Bla(c)k and POC communities have made within arts and cultural industries.
Existing data using dated language such as "CALD" does not address the nuance or systemic difference of experience and access that comes with different cultural backgrounds/intersections of identity.
We are currently working with a research partner to collate more detailed information about our communities impact and in turn create more opportunities for marginalised communities.
Through the undertaking of impact research , we aim to create a legacy that will continue to contribute to empowering our communities within the arts and beyond . Once our research is completed it will be available as an open source document for First Nations, Bla(c)k and POC individuals and communities to use.
